We know that the body has a natural propensity toward healing and balance. This is known as homeostasis.

Despite the body’s ability to heal, it can get overloaded with stress, emotions, trauma or injury. When this happens, it goes into lockdown and develops energetic stagnation and blockages. With persistence, we can open those energetic blockages and allow the body to heal!

Neurofascial Process (NFP) is an easy, hands-on, self-help modality that physically connects areas of the body that have become blocked or disconnected over time. Each area of the body (or “process center”) concerns specific physical, emotional and spiritual issues, and can be processed through NFP.

  • Physical issues may include: detoxification and elimination, immune support, allergies, breaking down sugar, and hormone balance.
  • Emotional issues may include: Balancing fear/faith, sadness/joy, resentment/acceptance.
  • Spiritual issues may include: life purpose, self-worth, self-love, identity, transcendence.
  • …among many others.

In this class, Mimi shares the steps of practicing NFP on yourself, and introduces you to 13 process centers and their physical/emotional/spiritual components. You'll learn how NFP can heal chronic problems and return the body to its healthy balanced state.

If you are interested in an integrative manual therapy (IMT) session with Mimi and learning more about NFP, please call the re:fit front desk at (847) 657-0881.

About the Teacher

Mimi Abrams is a Physical Therapist and Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT) Specialist. IMT enhances traditional physical therapy by looking at all systems of the physical body (cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, lymphatic, gastrointestinal, neural and craniosacral), along with psychosocial, emotional and belief systems. Her 30+ years of experience has taught her that traditional healing techniques often need to be modified, layered, or reinvented to more fully address the diagnosis.

Mimi often shares NFP with her patients as “homework” that they can practice when they are off the treatment table. Any of the NFP hand-holds can be supportive to your energy systems, but to identify the ones that your body needs most can lead to profound shifts over time. Mimi is grateful to be able to share practices that help empower people to heal themselves and experience more vitality and wholeness.
